. >> reporter: john and marla, good morning. you can see construction behind me, expected to be complete in plenty of time. city officials appear to be ready to make pretty big sacrifices to make a deal happen. as the new stadium takes form, city of santa clara hoping it brings more than 49ers to the south bay. on friday nfl expected to choose between bay area and miami for the host of super bowl l for 2015. they are giving up millions in revenue and hoping economic activity super bowl would generate would offset that cost. that includes a 9.5% hotel tax for the teams and other employees. the mayor of santa clara says that revenue could be made up for in other ways. >> because the super bowl is an extraordinary event, we're trying to make ourselves competitive in the bid. we want to ensure we put our best foot forward. we have a great partner with the super bowl committee. they will make up all the costs, actual costs, so it won't cost santa clara anything. >> now, in addition to waving that hotel tax for nfl, city leaders are r
